About
Representation matters. Not just on screens and pages, but in the information and data we share. Started in 2020, this annual event series invites you to celebrate Black History Month by learning to edit Wikipedia or Wikidata. Anyone can make a difference by helping to improve coverage of Black histories, with a focus on Toronto and Canada.
The events are organized by library and archives staff and students at Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto Public Library, University of Toronto and York University. The larger community of volunteer editors is, however, the heart of this month-long campaign to enrich Black histories.
